That's the way I felt when I met Shrimpmate! I felt the same way, Vampy!

^I know, kinda makes you want to turn to stripping, doesn't it, Vampy? Whenever my bills become too much, I can see how they do it.

The only difference is they'd pay me to put my clothes on.

Just saw the official notice - RT 2012 is at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Chicago on April 11 - 15, 2012. I am coming!! RT 2010 was the best time I have had in ages and I want RT 2012 to be even better! I was hoping for a hotel downtown so we could walk to cool places and being near the airport means crappy Chicago traffic for those of us driving. (On a side note, I graduated from high school in a suburb not too far away from this hotel!) But once we get there, who needs to drive? And to those of you flying, it will mean a short shuttle bus to and from the hotel. I really hope Stan can come! We all obviously come from the same obnoxious family in a past life and this is like the ultimate family reunion. And it is only a little over a year away! ;D
How soon can we make reservations to make sure we don't get bumped to another hotel?

You can only make reservations through RT when they get next years con site up and running. You must register for the convention before you can reserve a room....we will keep a close eye on the site. They will take partial payment on the convention..usually a hundred bucks and pay the rest later. That hotel has 1100 rooms and enclosed sky way access to the convention center next door. It's not too far from the Woodfield Mall area which I am pretty familiar with. We have to go to the Sweet Tomatoes Restaurant...I love that place.

God, I haven't been to Woodfield in ages. My sister used to live in Schaumburg and then Palatine and we used to go all the time. Then she moved to Johnsburg (up near the Wisconsin border) and haven't been there since. I used to live in Park Ridge, which is just across the Kennedy from the hotel. So I used to know the area but it has been a while.
I say we find a Gino's East and have pizza!!

Sounds like most of Da Peeps are going to be in Chi-town. I usually do RT *or* RWA - or some other big con - but I'll make sure to do RT next year if you all are going. I loved seeing you guys.

I'm going to try REALLY hard to go. Oddly enough, I LOVE that Hyatt. That's the con hotel that I usually go to for Anime Central in May, even if I haven't been in a few years. But I am a crazy fiend when it comes to running around in the habitat trails (yes, that's what I call them cause they remind me of a hamster running around in them, only people sized). Hm, though that was for anime cons where you'd get people in all kinds of crazy outfits.
Would anyone be willing to let me bunk with them if I can go?

You're the Troop Leader, you HAVE to be there! Plus, I think Deb and I are bringing/making gourmet jello shots. Right, Deb?

I've heard registration may open in September. I wonder how hard it would be to coordinate and get as many of us as possible on the same floor?

There are never any guarantees that will work. All we can do is request to be on the same floor at the same time we register and book the rooms. and hope that JoCarol can accommodate the group. A lot of the logistics depends on the configuration of the hotel rooms, which is beyond her control. She has in the past done exceedingly well in keeping groups on the same floor.
They do take a partial payment to get you registered ASAP, with the remainder due (usually) by Feb.1st. That way you can get the room reserved to avoid getting bumped to another hotel. I think this hotel is big enough to avoid having to use an overflow hotel, but you never know how fast it will fill up, especially since there has been a lot of buzz about RT Chicago on facebook and twitter lately.

I'm curious about a VPeep head count. Copy this and add yourself to the list with definite yes, definite no or maybe: (P.S. I think we need T-shirts)
