Any fun NYE plans, guys? I'm hanging with little people this year. I did the 'adult' NYE last year - and probably will again next - so I'm going to enjoy the downtime. Movies, popcorn, cookies ...
You?
Happy almost New Year! I hope 2010 has treated you well, and 2011 rocks for all mah Peeps! *muah!*

We're staying home, the following weekend will be the big celebration. Ailish is turning 21!! I've been informed that "my college friends want to come and drink with you". I said they just wanted to see me get drunk and she said "NO! They want to drink WITH YOU." So I guess I'm hosting a 21st birthday/cocktail party. I suppose I should feel honored they want to do it at home with me, rather than at some bar. Any suggestions for some good cocktails to try?

Working...NYE used to be my only real sacrosanct holiday...I refused to work so I could be somewhere when the ball dropped...These days, however, I take the 2.5x normal pay and write peacefully at work...
I do kinda miss the days of doing something with other people...

I'll be asleep. I get up at 5 to go to work. I do like going to sleep in 2010 and waking up in 2011.
This whole 20xx thing is very sci-fish to me. Where's the flying cars, lunar bases and shiny unitards?

Ryan is working a radio station event, Chris is working at the restaurant but will be home by 11:30, and Steve and I will be at home trying not to fall asleep as old folks are wont to do.

When I found out I actually don't have to work the next day, I made plans with a friend to go out at a bar near my house. She's a music promoter and we get special treatment, which is nice.
Then I went and slipped in the ice yesterday and broke my tailbone, got whiplash and am in lots of pain. Yes, I'm still planning on going out. No work 'til next week, ex has the kids and my girl is coming up by me. I MUST PARTAY!
HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE.

Ooooooooooooo it was so f'in worth it. I had a blast. A kid more than 10 years younger than me told me he liked me height and that I was sexy and asked me to marry him. He was the bass player in one of the bands that night, a really good one. (Band.) I let him buy me a drink, but told him I was too young for him. He was WASTED!
I loved hanging out with my friend and meeting lots of local rock bands. It was a blast, even if I didn't get to kiss anyone at midnight.
This year is going to be much better than the last. I will MAKE it so!
Happy New Year and lots of love to you all.

That's so cool - Cocktails? Where do I start? Mileage varies, though. What's palatable to me might not be the drink of choice for a 21 year old. I'm hard into Old Fashioneds right now. Can't go wrong with anything w/vodka in it though. And it's a clean alcohol, so if they don't mix they shouldn't get sick. OMG, I'm giving alcohol advice. We're staying home, the following weekend will be the big celebration. Ailish is turning 21!! I've been informed that "my college friends want to come and drink with you". OUCH! You *broke* it? Honey, that's going to take forever to heal. (There. Glad I could be of comfort. ) So sorry to hear that - hope you had a great NYE anyway! When I found out I actually don't have to work the next day, I made plans with a friend to go out at a bar near my house. She's a music promoter and we get special treatment, which is nice. Happy New Year (late) to you all! I was at home, nice and quiet. Mark went to bed early but I stayed up till Midnight and texted all of you who I had phone #'s for. I'm so boring, I don't do the whole party thing. sorry to hear about the broken tail bone, Ravie. Glad it didn't stop you from having a kick-ass time. ;D
