Hi everyone. So, for about a year I had Scent of Shadows sitting in my "Next to Read" book pile, but I always picked another book to read. The Shadow in the backround of that cover scared the bajeezus out of my imagination, so I was scared to read the book - Yes, I judged that book by it's cover. Then one day I finally decided to gird my loins and dive in; what a pleasant surprise it was!
Needless to say, I was hooked (on Hunter) and brought the rest of the books in the series. I've been eatting them up in quick succession, one right after the other. Last night I finished City of Souls. Holy crap! There's only been 1 other book where I actually cried 'cause a character broke my heart. Shush, IknowIamawussthankyouverymuch.
Anyway, today I start Cheat the Grave.... I'm scared of what I'll find, but I SO LOVE THIS LAS VEGAS!

Glad you loved the books as much as we do. Welcome to the forum and don't be a stranger.
If you post in the intro section, Showgirl(Vicki) will even give you a welcome. (offer her booze and cupcakes)

Very cool, and glad you finally got brave enough to try...never fear, even some devoted bibliophiles like myself end up judging books by covers sometimes...took people here beating me over the head with a 2x4 to get me to read the sookie series...

Oh, this is gonna be a fun group to talk to... I'm already enjoying the banter. Just finished chapter 3 of CtG (i think it was ch.3) and I want to go on a scavenger hunt with a boa and mask!! So jealous. I will be reading a little more before bed.

LOL @ Nhat....but yeshhhh read carefully, jessicav. AND don't forget to read the shorts The Harvest in the anthology Holidays Are Hell and Dark Matters in the anthology Unbound. Very nice companion stories that'll help you deal a bit better with a couple of the characters--Zoe in the Harvest and Hunter in Dark Matters.

HUNTER? *ears perk* in Dark Matters? Where? Oh, that's right, but he broke my heart too. I'm not sure I wanna see him again - ever. Unless he's doing something amazing. *Sneaks notes about which books to get*
OK HOLY GEEZ!!!! So I was reading in my closet around 11pm last night. The part about the Shadow seer with the tattoos and living nails and Mackie.... Gave me the HeeBeeJeeBees!

You need to come out of the closet. Reading is now legal in all 50 states, even for women.
