This is a news article about the scandal about the "Jon & Kate + 8" dad supposedly cheating. I was reading it and found a typo. (Not that I was looking.) So I gotta post it in the Grammar Police section, because some editor SHOULDA FOUND THAT before it got published. Kate Gosselin 'Very Hesitant To Believe' Any Reports Of Husband's AffairI believe the word is naive, you fucktards! Come on, this is an article from Yahoo, not some random blogger. They should know better! FAIL!

Also, in one of the reports that I read on Yahoo had Reading, PA spelled Redding, Penn.

We have a sales person at work who insists on spelling receipt as "reciete". Drives me loony. (This is also the sales person who always calls us up to look up addresses, names, phone numbers and anything else she can't keep track of. Yes, I ended that sentence in a preposition. Sue me.) Also, one of my jobs is processing the checks we receive in the mail. I cannot believe how many people can't spell forty!! (usually comes out as fourty!) le sigh.

OMG, Skitty! I know. "Fourty" is a bad one.
(I don't care about the ending the sentence with a preposition thing. Sometimes, it's what sounds best. And we're not writing essays, here.) ;D I'm not THAT anal.
Anyone else?

I think modern language has lost that rule. Sometimes the other way just sounds awkward.

OK this has bugged me for many, many, many, many (you get the picture) years and I just have to let it out so I can move on. I am no expert on grammar and spelling but there is one word that I've seen misspelled all the time and it just drives me batty. I can see other words misspelled and not bat an eye but for some reason when I see the word "definitely" spelled wrong, it makes me cringe. {shrugs} There, I've said it.
