Probably more like a mile or two.. When I was a kid we had two mixed beagle puppies. They caught their first rabbit together and it took both of them to carry it.
My dogs,(pictured above) are more into the tennis balls except the puppy keeps eating htem.

Awww... the puppies are all so cute! Here's my "gang" and why hubby said ixnay on the beagle: From the top: Panic, Disorder, Chaos, and Nugget. This is what greets me whenever I step outside the bedroom in the morning and the office at the end of the day.

I need to put my tags on my cats. I have them but I never put them on. They got mad at me just for putting a flea collar on them.
Maybe I should have used 2 flea collars?(JK-just kidding)
I am guessing Nuget is the nonblack cat?

Nope. Nugget is the black one seated in the foreground with the yellow collar. Panic is the orange tabby. Disorder is the tortie next to her. Chaos is the big black kitty (weighing a whopping 25 pounds) lying on the floor beside Nugget.

This is Big Boy and Little Girl, shortly after I found her. Fuzzy TYPO LG about how she is now. She's a tad bit bigger and still growing. She's only about 9 months old now.

Fuzzers has some cattitude. She can be very sweet or not. She will follow me around or wait for me by the door like a puppy.
She peed on me once when I ignored her demands to ne let outside. She just jumped up on the bed straddled my leg and let loose.

Angela! Your puppy is ADORABLE! I've never seen a Shar-Pei/Beagle mix before.
Jeannie, I love how you managed to get all your cats in one picture. We complimented you on the names before, I remember. Awesomeness.
I'm currently kittensitting (again) and my fat old man cat takes every opportunity to let me (and the kitten) know he isn't pleased about it. But she's so damn cuuuuute! She doesn't meow. She chirps! Then he growls and hisses in return. I shall post video when I upload it.

Thanks, Raven! I love that she'll always look like a puppy, with her slightly too-large Shar Pei neck and head on her little Beagle body! lol No one can believe when I tell them she's 2 years old.

After 2, the only growing she should do is if she gets fat. She is quite the cutie though.

Yeah, she's full grown. And she's so active, and doesn't eat much, so I doubt I'll have to worry about her getting fat. Thanks, Vampyre! I think so too.
