Yep but I'm not sure if I spelled it right. It refers to the 7 year mating cycle of Vulcans.

Words of wisdom for book addicts: Do not go into book store without a list. I went to B&N for Rachel Vincent's Rogue and Jeaneine Frost's books. They didn't have Halfway to the Grave, and I'm anal about reading the first, so I ordered it and will have it in a couple days. Fine. So I bought the 2nd book while I was there. And left without Rogue! Why? 'Cuz I'm easily distracted by the other preshus books in the store and walked out with 4 others instead. I promise myself Rogue when I go to pick up Halfway to Grave next week. Dammit.

And even when they don't I still walk out of there with something. I think it's a sickness.

I am with you Raven. iIf I am starting a new series of books I must read them in order. No jumping in the middle for me either. I love boxed sets when I can find them.

I've always said my local bookstore should have a sign over the door that reads:
ABANDON HOPE ALL YE YOU ENTER HERE

Got to agree with you there Theresa.. all book stores should have that.
I was at B&N this weekend picking up One Foot in the Grave. I had it in my hand reading it while I waited in line for my "Vanilla Italian Cream Soda" From starbucks then started walking around the store reading and drinking my drink while I waited for my fiance to come pick me. he called and I started walking out while reading the book that I didn't pay for. The alarms sounded and I was like "What?" *looks down at book* "Oh." Then I went and bought it like I should have when I picked it up from the shelf.

The thought of food and drinks in a bookstore kind of makes me cringe. The idea of someone leaving sticky finger prints all over a new book really bugs me.
It sounds about as good an idea as having a smoking section in an operating room.
I bet you aren't the only one that's accidentlly set off the alarms while reading your way out of the store.

That's Barnes and Noble for ya...though they're also nice in that it's a perfect Wi-Fi spot for those with laptops...

Yes ma'am, I remember that story.
computers and drinks are also another bad combo unless they have a water tight key board membrane.

My fingers were not sticky! I was very careful not to damage my new book in any way shape or form. Though I do have to admit that one of by pet peeves about people and books are people who 'dog ear' pages. *cringes*

Oh don't get me started on book abuse.
I almost get violent when I see some fool breaking the books back, or dog earing the pages.
I try to very careful when I read. Smudging pages, creasing the pages or the book's jacket are all big no no's.
I never throw away a book unless it is just damaged beyond repair. I have a tendency to give them away, even the ones I later realize I should of kept.
